browsing and current awareness.
The indexes in each issue provide three modes of access to the literature:
- Author Index - Listed in alphabetical order, the Author Index
includes full author names when provided.
- Organism Index - The Organism Index allows for hierarchical access to
kingdom, family, and genus species names. This enables the user to easily find
references to related organisms.
- Subject Index - The Subject Index has an easy-to-scan back-of-book
format. Arranged alphabetically, the Subject Index lists all significant words
from the title as well as descriptive words added by BIOSIS indexers. All
significant words used to describe the original document appear in the Subject
Index, including genus species, common names, geographical regions, and
scientific and commercial drug names.
