Update on Your Contribution to Graduate Education Survey

As some of you know, Dialog runs a Graduate Education Program, available worldwide to graduate degree programs in library science and related disciplines. In the late spring of 2003, several Quantum2 members contributed to a Dialog survey of skill requirements for graduates of LIS programs. The findings of the survey were presented as a paper at the 2003 EUCLID/ALISE joint conference and published in a 2004 issue of the peer-reviewed journal, New Library World from Emerald Publishing.

As a result of your contributions to this survey and the resulting paper, Dialog representatives have been invited to sit on the External Advisory Board for Loughborough University in the United Kingdom, which has recently received funding to undertake a two-year project to conduct a detailed study of Employability Skills in the Curriculum for LIS courses. We are sure that many of you who contributed to the initial survey will find the final results of the project highly interesting. Thank you for your contribution.

As always, your suggestions for workshop topics are always welcome and encouraged. If you know a friend or colleague who would benefit from Quantum2, please encourage them to sign up today.
