Its the merry month of May of course and everyone begins to look forward to hot summer months in earnest.?? For us information professionals, summer means one big event - SLA Annual Conference, to be held from 7-13 June in New York or the "Big Apple".?? We hope to see as many of you there as possible.?? It means therefore that our newsletter this month is slightly shorter than usual and focuses on our offerings at SLA this year.

GETTING TO KNOW...YOUR QUANTUM2 COACH

As part of getting to know us all a little bit better, our Quantum2 Coach this month is Josie Shaw of Australia, based in our Sydney office.

How long have you worked for Dialog?
Seems like forever, but in reality 3.5 years.

How did you come to join Dialog?
I was headhunted from an internet company which was working with Dialog.?? The internet company went bust.

What are your key responsibilities?
Knowledge Centre, Customised Solutions, Training, Office Administration, and anything else that seems to fit with "other duties as required."

What is the most rewarding aspect of your job?
Seeing the light go on when people understand Dialog commands.?? Also promoting the value of the information profession and the information professional in particular.

What is the most challenging aspect of your work?
Mornings.?? No, really...Keeping everything in perspective.

How do you balance work and personal life?
I have a very full personal life and sometimes the balancing act can be interesting.?? Especially when everything happens at the same time!

What did you want to be, growing up?
An actress.

What three words would you use to describe yourself today?
Happy, Tired, Passionate.

What are your plans for the future?
To get through the day?!?!?!?? To have no regrets.
