Melinda Kershaw

I have been with Thomson for over two years, working in Dialog’s Knowledge Center as an intellectual property specialist and utilising expertise as a registered trade marks attorney. Currently team leader of the Asia Pacific office, overseeing operations of the Knowledge Center and the newly formed ANZ Technical and Customer Support team for Thomson Scientific.

Previous employment history includes over 5 years working as an officer of the Australian Government in the federal intellectual property office (IP Australia), and 3 years in community sector health agencies overseeing health promotion initiatives.

I graduated with a Bachelor of Applied Science (psychology & anatomy majors) from the University of Canberra, and have subsequent post-graduate qualifications in intellectual property from the University of Technology Sydney, and as a criminologist with a Master of Criminology from the University of Sydney.

I have a great love for travelling and experiencing different cultures, and have been throughout Asia (including Everest base camp in Tibet), North America, and the UK, with plans to travel to and experience Africa in 2009.

I enjoy spending time shopping, photography and making amateur movies, gardening, playing and watching sports, catching up with friends & family, and spending lazy days with my partner and our cat.
