NEW ONLINE LEARNING OPPORTUNITIES FOR REGULATORY INTELLIGENCE TRAINING

Web-based Resource Offers Instruction by an Internationally Recognized Network of Experts

Philadelphia, PA USA-London UK — June 19, 2006 — Thomson Scientific, a business of The Thomson Corporation, today announced the launch of a Web-based resource for regulatory intelligence training. Called Regulatory Online Learning, it integrates with IDRAC ® , which was acquired by Thomson in 2004 and is recognized by regulatory professionals the world over as the leading authority in global regulatory intelligence. Users will have access to expert instruction designed to provide unparalleled training in global regulatory affairs and to optimize success when dealing with regulatory authorities.

IDRAC already provides comprehensive reference information for the drug development regulatory environment,” said Claude Basset , managing director of IDRAC, Thomson Scientific. “Now, by introducing the Regulatory Online Learning , we can offer our customers the invaluable information they need to make the decisions vital to making safe and effective healthcare products available worldwide.”

The Regulatory Online Learning modules now available include:

  • Introduction to European Union institutions and regulatory authority (EMEA)
  • Introduction to US institutions and regulatory authority (FDA)
  • Introduction to Japanese institutions and regulatory authorities
  • How to Register Medicinal Products through the Centralized Procedure

Twelve more Regulatory Online Learning modules are poised for launch later this year, totaling 16 training modules to be available for the first year of introduction. Further modules will be added subsequently.

These modules will cater to three levels of expertise: Introductory, Practical (to include case studies) and Strategic. Online learning modules are developed by IDRAC experts, assisted by an internationally recognized network of consultants and partners. Content of all modules will be continually updated and complemented by an e-Testing capability that will enable online knowledge testing after each module has been completed.

Additional information on this learning opportunity will be available in a free Web Seminar on June 29, 2006. More information and registration is available at: http://scientific.thomson.com/products/rol
