    Dr. Trevor Hansel is Medical Director of the National Heart and Lung Institute (NHLI) Clinical Studies Unit of Imperial College, and an Honorary Consultant at the Royal Brompton Hospital in London. Trevor Hansel has a specialist interest in phase II clinical testing of new anti-inflammatory therapies for asthma and COPD, involving nasal and bronchial challenge, and use of non-invasive biomarkers.

    Trevor Hansel has over a hundred publications on eosinophils, cytokines and chemokines, biomarkers, inhaled and nasal challenge models, whole blood flow cytometry methods, and evaluation of new drugs for asthma and COPD. Come hear 1st hand how the use of biomarkers data is being utilized to advance research.

Jon Brett-Harris is Executive Vice President of the Pharmaceutical and Chemical Markets strategic business unit for Thomson Reuters. His responsibilities include the Liquent, IDRAC, Newport, Prous Science and CMR businesses.

Prior to joining Thomson in March 2006, Jon held management and leadership roles within the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industry. He had also operated his own company with activities focused on pharmaceutical licensing, venture funding and executive coaching.

Jon holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology and Economics and an MBA, both from the University of London.

After graduating from University College London with a Biochemistry degree (BSc Hons), Rachel joined Current Drugs (acquired by Thomson) in 1996 in the Editorial department working specifically on the drug and company information within IDdb. Since then, Rachel has enjoyed various roles in sales, account managment, technical support, customer training and customer values & feedback, mostly related to IDdb and Thomson Pharma.

She is now a Product Manager responsible for the strategy and future roadmap of existing and new business development & licensing solutions for the pharmaceutical & biotech industry.

Mark has twenty years of experience helping companies improve business performance using information technology. He spent much of the last ten years helping pharmaceutical companies develop business processes and systems to support the identification, evaluation and pursuit of research collaboration, drug licensing and merger and acquisition opportunities, as well as competitive intelligence.

Mark is currently evaluating biopharma market needs for analytical solutions and information and using those assessments to drive Thomson Reuters's product strategy.

Krysia starting working for Derwent Information (now part of Thomson Reuters) 8 years ago after leaving Sheffield University with a Masters Degree in Chemistry. Krysia initially worked as a senior patent analyst compiling abstracts and indexing pharmaceutical patents for the DWPI database.

She then moved to internal product training, helping the sales team learn about the products and gain an understanding of the drug development pipeline. After being in this role for 2 years Krysia moved to a customer facing role to help address customer specific needs and accompanying sales on customer visits.

This job has now evolved and Krysia now works within the Product Management team, which helps shape the development of the pharmaceutical product portfolio.

Dave joined Thomson Scientific in 2005 as a
member of Newport’s research team which
specializes in gathering competitive intelligence on the worldwide active ingredients market and the generic pharmaceutical sector. In 2007, Dave took on an additional role of supporting Thomson’s global sales force during the sales of Newport’s systems, including Vision CI which is used by many innovators for CI and sourcing purposes. In this dual role, Dave has traveled to many countries of the world, including India, China, and Japan. Dave earned a BS in Economics with Business minor from the University of Utah.

Colin Williams is the Product Manager for Biology and Bioinformatics at Thomson Reuters. He studied Biochemistry at the University of Sheffield before completing a PhD in protein X-ray crystallography. Following post doctoral work he moved to ASM Scientific, a start-up biotechnology company in Cambridge UK.

Here, as part of a team of three, he developed a novel isothermal DNA amplification technology for use in point of care pathogen detection and contributed towards patent applications for the technology. Subsequent to this he joined Thomson Reuters as GENESEQ Editorial and Content manager in November 2005. Here he was responsible for optimizing production in terms of timeliness and quality, but also examining potential content changes and additions to the product. In June 2007 he moved into his current role where he is responsible for developing solutions for Biologists and those working with this information.

In his role at IDRAC, Riccardo is responsible for maintaining and updating the EU module and for coordinating the activity of all the teams in charge of the European countries modules.

Riccardo joined IDRAC as an Editor for the European and International legislation in 2002. Prior to joining IDRAC, Riccardo worked as a medical representative at Alfa-Wassermann, he also spent several months as a trainee within the European Medicines Agency (EMEA).

He gained his PharmD in 1997 at the Faculty of Pharmacy of the University of Palermo (Italy) and his Master in Regulatory Affairs in the European Union in 1999 at the Faculty of Pharmacy of the University of Lille (France).

Prior to join Thomson Reuters in May of 2002 Mr. Dennin has had various positions in the Information Technology business since 1986. His background includes custom installations of business systems for the retail, hospitality, financial, pharmaceutical and manufacturing markets. He has worked for several leading technology companies, NCR, MicroAge, Broadwing and Core BTS. Mr. Dennin has also provided consulting services for Dell Computer and Acer.

Currently he leads the Custom Solutions team in North America for the Scientific Business of Thomson Reuters focusing on the Pharma and Biotech industries.
