In 1955, Dr. Eugene Garfield revolutionized scientific research with his concept of citation indexing and searching. Last year, as Dr. Garfield, the founder of ISI and now Chairman Emeritus of Thomson Scientific, was about to turn 80, he sat down with an interviewer to reflect on the 50th anniversary of this groundbreaking accomplishment, as well as other relevant topics.
